This project involved the extension of the roof of a Victorian detached house to create a double room mansard roof extension with separate bathroom facility and to remodel the rear of the house as well as refurbish the main building.
The house had previously been extended and the design brief was to rationalise and redesign the rear rooms so that it was a coherent whole. The design produced merged four separate spaces to create a coherent contemporary living space.
The space created opens up to the garden through full-width bi-folding doors. Work to the house included remodelling the first floor to provide ensuite and additional bathroom accommodation. This three bedroom house is now a five bedroom home with ample en suites and bathroom accommodation.
Renovation work included tiling the hallway using traditional Victorian floor tiles and the restoration of the beautifully detailed wooden arches.
The result is a beautiful spacious family home that is model but retains its historical features.
